We spent a weekend in Northern Michigan in August. TJ and his family used to camp in Mackinaw when he was young, so it was a walk down memory lane for him and a beautiful new discovery for me. We stayed in Mackinaw and took the ferry to Mackinaw Island where there are no cars, only feet, bicycles, and horses. What a beautiful day to wander through shops, ride a horse carriage on a tour of the island, stroll on the beach, and eat the famous Mackinaw fudge. If you don't count the move to Ann Arbor, it was our first vacation as married people, and it was great. We enjoyed the sights and the opportunity to escape the humidity and heat of Ann Arbor.
